Luggage & Gear

We each carry one Wolfman Mini Beta Bag. The bags have straps that attach to the bike at four points — straps attach to each passenger peg and two straps attach to the rear luggage rack. Mrs Knobby also uses a very small Wolfman tankbag, but I do not because it gets in the way when I stand up.

We travel light. My fully loaded Wolfman bag typically weighs 19 lbs. This is the same whether the trip is one week or one month. Most of my weight is from tools. My packing list includes:

Assorted tools & wrenches, air pressure gage, tire irons, bead breaker, spare nuts & bolts, zip-ties, wire, duct tape, chain lube, grease rags, rubber gloves, spare tubes (front and rear), tube patch kit with extra glue, tire-changing lube, air pump, epoxy putty, tow rope, …

Water bottle, energy bars, flashlight, waterproof matches, pocket knife, heavy duty trash bag, rain gear, fork & spoon, house keys, maps, iPhone & charger, extension cord, …

One pair of synthetic pants, one synthetic long sleeve collared shirt, one smartwool shirt, one pair of synthetic undies, flip-flop sandals, laundry detergent for washing clothes by hand, toiletries (toothbrush & paste, Bodyglide, sunscreen lotion, lip balm with sunblock, sewing kit, etc.), …

Wallet with drivers license, motorcycle insurance card, vehicle registration, credit card, debit card, cash, medical insurance card, AAA card, …

Riding gear: riding jacket, riding pants, helmet with face shield, ear plugs, boots, gloves, smartwool glove liners, Moto-Skiveez undies, long sleeve synthetic shirt, buff neck warmer or bandana, smartwool socks, sunglasses, and cap.
